Leaky gut and autoimmune disease treatment

If you want to optimize your health, first look to your gut.  Even if your liver is polluted, what is the source of that pollution?  Your gut.  So to optimize your health and well-being, get your gut into good, solid shape, and you’ll be helping out your liver, your kidneys, your brain and your immune system all at once.  Talk about a win!

To optimize gut health, you need to start with testing.  The right order would be to test for parasites first, then treat, then test for other gut microbes, including yeast in the stool, then treat for those.  As much as possible, keep up probiotics during all of this, since as you treat, new stuff moves in when the bad stuff moves out, and you want the new stuff to be good new stuff.

Make sure your doctor uses an excellent lab for parasite testing.  Metametrix ahs a good reputation in the US for parasite testing, but the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) cautions you use “several” different labs in order to catch everything since they all test for different things.  Dr. Hammed Ibraheem in Nigeria, who consults for Dr. Glenn Wilcox in New Mexico (Dr. Of Oriental Medicine), can be an extremely valuable resource for parasite testing and cleansing.  Dr. Wilcox worked with Dr. Ibraheem for years and is very knowledgeable about parasites himself.  People seek Dr. Ibraheem out after trying to get rid of parasites for years and failing.  He might not be the first person you go to because his solutions are ***very*** expensive, handcrafted herb teas, but if you have struggled with parasites for years and they are persisting, Dr. Ibraheem is your go-to guy.

If you are just starting out with parasite testing and treatment, you might test with Dr. Ibraheem himself, or go to Dr. Amin at www.parasitetesting.com and do his protocol if necessary.  His lab appears to be better than the average at finding the bad guys.  He also has treatment that is reasonably priced.  Another treatment for parasites is detailed in the book Body Electronics, a highly recommended human body user’s manual, and it involves drinking and applying essential oils in olive oil.  The essential oils are so fine in their molecular structure they go right into your tissues and take out all the parasites along the way.  There are different oils for different parasites.  This is probably the most economical treatment.  In the absence of research comparing these methods, you will have to experiment on your own to determine what will work best for you.  The author of Body Electronics, Thomas Chavez, swears by his protocol’s efficacy as well as its economy, and claims it’s very gentle on your digestive tract, unlike other methods.  If anyone tries it I’d love to post your experience on my blog.  Write me!  If we did not knock out our parasites on our painfully expensive treatment plan, then I will be trying it next so if I do I’ll let you all know…

The Doctor’s Data microbiology stool profile provides info on microbes as well as yeast and is highly informative.  You can go through your own doctor and use Doctor’s Data Labs, but you do not have to go through a doctor to use them.  Of course a huge advantage of going through your doctor is insurance reimbursement.

After you have your microbiology report, you may find some microbes in your gut you do not want there. And you can’t use antibiotics, either prescription or natural such as Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) or Olive Leaf Extract (OLE), to address them. Using antibiotics isn’t an option because such antibiotics will wipe out all the good flora and all the bad flora, and cause the buildup of a mucosal layer to protect your intestinal lining from the drug, so you’ll be in worse shape than when you started.

One very effective way of addressing gut microbiology is using isopathy.  You may be surprised at what happens after addressing just one gut bug with isopathy. In our family, after targeting Clostridium, my son’s taste for numerous foods opened up in a big way.  Isopathy can also be used for yeast. You must pursue isopathy only under the care of a qualified homeopath.  Although some homeopaths might object to using isopathy, I think it is a ***great*** way to jump-start a case homeopathically, and the nosode (homeopathic remedy made from the bug that’s bugging you) can be used as an intercurrent with your constitutional remedy, switching off every month or so, so things don’t go completely off the rails.

Of course in the midst of all this you really need to avoid the big GMO foods because you do not want your gut bacteria to be making Roundup and you do not want the fungus in your gut that has been making the Roundup crop-exposed cows sick:  soy, corn, canola and cottonseed oil.

If you or your child has food allergies on top of all the above challenges to the gut (who wouldn’t with bad gut bugs?), then you need to help the body heal the gut first, so you’re not leaking constantly.  Then you may want to test through your doctor for food allergies using IGG and IGA testing.  This will give you a list of foods which you need to avoid.  These can be slowly treated one by one with Bioset to eliminate these allergies.  The allergies shouldn’t come back if the gut is healed.  The cost of Bioset can add up over time too, but you can learn to do it yourself on your child, or if you are fortunate enough to have a supportive spouse, they can help with this.  This should get you and/or your child back on track to eating and living much more like a normal person.

This page written by a doctor on healing leaky gut syndrome and autoimmune disease is a very interesting overview of leaky gut syndrome, autoimmune disease, and the link between the two. I highly recommend reading it.
